Ejector

Jet ejectors are used to generate vacuum, to compress gases, to convey liquids, to transport granular solids, to mix liquids or gases.

Types of Ejectors:

According to the motive fluid, ejectors are categorized as below:

  • Gas Jet Ejector
  • Steam Jet Ejector
  • Liquid Jet Ejector

According to the suction medium, ejectors are named as below:

  • Jet Ventilator
  • Jet Compressor
  • Jet Vacuum Ejector
  • Jet Liquid Ejector
  • Jet Solids Ejector

One of the most common types of Ejector in industries is Steam Jet Ejector. The operating principle of a steam ejector stage is that the pressure energy in the motive steam is converted into velocity energy in the nozzle, and, this high velocity jet of steam entrains the vapor or gas being pumped. The resulting mixture, at the resulting velocity, enters the diffuser where this velocity energy is converted to pressure energy so that the pressure of the mixture at the ejector discharge is substantially higher than the pressure in the suction chamber.

Ejectors can operate individually or can be arranged in multistage configuration of several ejectors in series.
